About Our Elders
Lead Pastor, Elder. My family is one of the refugees from California. We have been here in Idaho since 2006 and absolutely love Nampa and this great state. I am married to the love of my life named Andrea (Andie) with whom we have 6 kids and 2 grandkids. We have been attending here since 2008 and have I have been pastoring here since 2012. In 2020 I was installed as the senior pastor, a week before the covid craziness. It has been and continues to be such a pleasure and a privilege for me to love, serve, and proclaim the gospel of Christ to the flock here at SGF. This is a place where God’s Word is honored and proclaimed, where people are loved and instructed, where the Lord is worshipped in Spirit and in truth. This church is my family, a loving and warm family that seeks and serves Jesus Christ. God is doing a wonderful work here and it is such a blessing to be a part of it.
Elder, Missionary . Dan was born in Sudan, and lived in Somalia and Ethiopia, as the son of missionaries who served with SIM. He was able to finish high school in Henderson, NE. Dan recognized God’s call to missions at an early age and by the time he attended high school, he knew he would serve as a missionary pilot. Dan has served with Mission Aviation Fellowship as a pilot and aircraft mechanic in South and Central America for 40 some years. He currently works at MAF headquarters at Nampa airport. He has 4 grown children and 8 grandchildren. He and Sylvia joined SGF in 2012 and they find themselves more and more at home in this church. It is a great joy to part of this fellowship.
Elder. Rolland Bonds Married to my wife Faith, we have 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. I have been attending church in this building since 1979 (Formally Church of the Open Door), shortly after dedicating my life to Jesus. Over the years hobbies have included camping, a hot rod, pickups, dirt bikes, horses and a cow and goat farm. I retired in 2019 after 32 years in auto sales and service. Before that I worked in the meat industry for 13 years starting in a custom meat shop, moving to a retail meat market for Safeway and finishing my meat cutting career at a meat packing plant in Nampa. My first career was detailing cars for 2 years. These days I enjoy retirement by staying busy at home at Guffy in Owyhee County, When I'm not tending to the weeds or lawns I'm riding 4 wheelers, shooting guns or doing something fun on my tractor.

Elder, Home Group Leader. I grew up in the Nampa area, moved here in 1999. I've been going to SGF since 2012, serving its children's ministry and lay ministries since soon after that. I went to Western Baptist University (Corban University); graduated with a major in pre-law combined with a specific focus on Biblical Studies. I attended Law School in Boise at Concordia University. I love the Lord and have a passion to serve the Body of Christ with grace and love. My goal is to promote unity in the church by encouraging fellowship, to lead humbly, stand firm against unsound doctrine, and help people individually and corporately grow in the knowledge of Christ and His word. Most importantly, though, I seek to glorify God in all things.
